In 2021, TBS and GoTo Group established a joint venture company named PT Energi Kreasi Bersama, with the brand name "Electrum".
Since then, Electrum has been developing an integrated electric vehicle ecosystem and industry, encompassing vehicle assembly, battery manufacturing technology, battery-swapping infrastructure, charging stations, and financing solutions.
Electrum has been taking part in several strategic milestones to strengthen the national EV value chain and support Indonesia’s energy transition agenda. Notably, on February 22, 2022, President Joko Widodo officiated the launch of a collaborative electric vehicle ecosystem development involving Electrum, Pertamina, Gogoro, and Gesits—highlighting the synergy between state-owned and private sectors. Later that year, Electrum participated in the G20 Summit and B20 Forum in Bali, where it provided 50 electric motorcycles supported by 11 shelters and 150 Gojek driver-partners, offering mobility services for delegates free of charge. This initiative reinforced Electrum’s alignment with Indonesia’s G20 priority on sustainable energy transition.
Electrum’s progress is also reflected in its ability to attract international financing support. In December 2024, Electrum secured a US$15 million funding package, including a US$5 million loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), a US$5 million concessional loan from the Australian Climate Finance Partnership (ACFP), and another US$5 million from Bank DBS Indonesia. The financing supports Electrum’s vehicle procurement and expansion of its battery-swapping network, with an estimated impact of reducing at least 123,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year.
In line with growing market demand and the shift to sustainable urban mobility, Electrum launched its newest electric motorcycle model, H3i, at the Indonesia Motorcycle Show (IMOS) in October 2024. The H3i offers a modern design tailored for daily urban use and is available in seven vibrant color options. It provides flexibility through home charging or access to Electrum’s fast-growing battery-swapping network.

To date, Electrum has deployed more than 260 Battery Swapping Stations (BSS) across Jakarta, supporting a fleet of over 4,000 electric motorcycles. This growing infrastructure is crucial to accelerating EV adoption and reducing range anxiety among users. By strengthening its presence from upstream to downstream, Electrum continues to demonstrate TBS’s long-term commitment to building a sustainable transport future in Indonesia.
